Hua is famous for solving algebraic equations. 1926 Yi Xue magazine published Su Jiaju's article "Solution of Algebraic quintic Equation" in Volume 7, Issue 10. At that time, Hua was very puzzled after reading it, because as early as around 1820, Abel, a talented mathematician in Norway, proved that algebraic equations with five or more degrees had no algebraic solutions, that is, there was no "universal algebraic root formula". After repeated calculation and verification, he found that the calculation of a determinant with the order of 12 in the paper was wrong, which led to the wrong result, so he wrote the solution of the fifth equation of Su Jiaju's Algebra. It was this article that Xiong Qinglai, head of the Department of Mathematics at Tsinghua University, saw, so he invited Hua, who had only a junior high school education, to work in Tsinghua University. Later, Hua's talent was appreciated by Xiong Qinglai and sent to Cambridge University in England to study abroad, eventually becoming a master of mathematics.

I think it is his obsession and love for mathematics, and his spirit of challenging authority and pursuing truth.

In fact, people who do math don't need a high IQ. Academician Lin Qun said that the most important thing for a person to succeed is personality. This can also explain why our country has achieved outstanding results in the Olympic Games of Mathematics over the years, but there are only a handful of our mathematics masters. Aren't the IQ of these winners very high, but how many of them eventually engage in mathematics? The genius IQ of the juvenile class is not very high, but how many masters can it produce? Is the IQ of the champion of the college entrance examination not high? How many of those talented talents are "top students in exams" with excellent academic performance? Isn't it awesome to win three yuan in a row? Did they leave anything commendable in history?
