The powerful formula editor in Word provides an effective tool for adding fractions, exponents, integrals and other complex formulas to documents. When using Formula Editor to create a formula, the system will automatically adjust the font size, style, spacing and format according to the mathematical layout rules, and it is also allowed to adjust the formatting or define automatic styles.

To open the Formula Editor, follow these steps:

1. Sets the insertion point of the insertion formula. Select Object from the Insert menu to open the Object dialog box.

2. In the Object Type list box of the New option of the dialog box, select the formula editor Microsoft Formula 3.0, and click OK to enter the formula editor state, and the formula editor window will be displayed.

3. Edit the formula in the formula editor window, click anywhere outside the formula input box after completion, and the formula will be inserted into the insertion point of the document. If you want to modify the formula, you can double-click the formula and return to the formula editor to continue editing.

The formula editing window has its own menu and formula toolbox, which is displayed as a formula box with a dotted box at the insertion point. There are two lines of symbol template buttons on the formula toolbox. The upper line is a mathematical symbol, and the lower line is a formula template. Clicking the symbol button will pull out a list of symbols or templates, which contains various symbols and templates to choose from.

If there is no Microsoft Formula 3.0 item in the Object Type of the New option of the Object dialog box, please insert Office into the CD-ROM drive.

Install the 2000 disk, execute the Stup installation command, select "Change Options" under "Office Tools" in the "Add/Remove" option, select "Formula Editor" and confirm the automatic installation. "Microsoft Formula 3.0 Item" will appear in "Object Type".
