Unnc is the first Sino-foreign cooperative university in China approved by the Ministry of Education to introduce world-class universities. Co-founded by Nottingham University and Zhejiang Wanli College. The school is led by Professor Yang, former president of Nottingham University and academician of China Academy of Sciences. Professor Nick Myers is the executive principal. This school was founded in 2004. At the inauguration ceremony, the General Secretary sent a message: "The creation and establishment of unnc has created a combination of China's higher education and foreign high-quality higher education resources, and created a brand-new model for China's education to go global."
Unnc now has three colleges: Institute of Technology, Business School and College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Business administration, management and economics rank 1 1, 26, 44(202 1) among domestic universities, and unnc is also the only Sino-foreign cooperative university with all three disciplines on the list. The business school has passed the European Quality Development Certification System (EQUIS) certification and obtained the highest standard five-year certification. Dr. Zhang Yulong, a professor at unnc Business School and a Malaysian Chinese, was listed as a highly cited scholar in China for the sixth consecutive year, becoming one of the most cited scholars in the fields of business, management and accounting. Some experts praised Professor Zhang as one of the 50 most prolific computer researchers in Malaysia.
