South China Agricultural University was founded in June 1.996+0.65438, which was formed by the merger of the former basic course teaching and research section of South China Agricultural University and the computer center. Responsible for the teaching of basic courses of mathematics, physics, chemistry and computer in all majors of the school and the teaching of three majors of computer application, fine chemical industry, finance and computer. From 65438 to 0998, the two majors of computer application and fine chemical engineering were upgraded to undergraduate majors of computer science and technology and applied chemistry. In 2002, the undergraduate major of information and computing science was added. In July, 2003, the computer science and technology specialty was separated from the College of Science to form the School of Information. In 2004, the College of Science added undergraduate majors in mathematics and applied mathematics, optical information science and technology, and materials chemistry. In 2008, electronic information science and technology were added.
