Chen Shengshen, 19 1 165438/kloc-0 was born in xiushui county, Jiaxing, Zhejiang on October 28th. He is a Chinese-American mathematician and a great geometer in the 20th century. [ 1]

1926, Chen Shengshen entered the Mathematics Department of Nankai University. 1in the summer of 934, he graduated from Tsinghua University Research Institute with a master's degree and became the first mathematics graduate student trained by himself in China. 1943, he published Gauss-Bonet formula of closed Riemannian manifold and simple intrinsic proof of indicator class of Hermite manifold. From 1963 to 1964, Chen Shengshen served as the vice chairman of the American Mathematical Society. 1995 Chen Shengshen was elected as the first foreign academician of China Academy of Sciences. 1999 was appointed as the first honorary president of Jiaxing College. On February 3, 2004 19: 00, Chen Shengshen died at the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University at the age of 93.
