Gmat needs a vocabulary of about 6000. Although there will be a lot of uncommon words in gmat exam, we just need to refine the initials directly, because there are not many core words.
Second, gmat practical vocabulary memory methods
1. Pinyin mnemonics
Although Chinese characters and English words are two completely different languages, they have one thing in common: Chinese pinyin and English letters are homographs. In this way, the tone letter combination of some Chinese characters is exactly the same as that of some English words.
We are basically familiar with commonly used Chinese characters. If we make strange associations with English words through Pinyin, we can remember English words quickly and firmly. This is the pinyin mnemonic method.
2. Split memory method
That is to take a word apart and remember it in a way that is easy for you to remember. For example: agonist, which means firm, can be broken down into three parts: A (1) +dam +ant (ant)? The ants standing on the dam are still standing despite the heavy wind and waves. This is firmness.
3. Homophonic association method
According to the pronunciation of the word, connect with the meaning of the word, so that you can remember the word accordingly. For example, the word stubbornness means stubbornness. You can describe it as rigid and clumsy. These three adjectives are stubborn.
Another example is the word "morbid", which means morbid and abnormal. Something is wrong.
There is another kind of pest that is easy to recite. Its homonym is to kill it, so that it can be immediately associated with its meaning: pest. This GMAT vocabulary memorization method is the most important and effective method, and everyone must learn to use it when preparing for the exam.
4. Root addition method
For every student who wants to conquer advanced vocabulary, root affixes are the most basic and effective method. When your vocabulary exceeds 5000, you must learn quite a lot of roots in order to make a greater breakthrough in vocabulary.
