Tianjin Vocational and Technical Teachers College is the earliest normal college in China, and its main task is to train vocational education teachers. Founded in 1979, it belongs to the former Ministry of Labor. The school has six subjects: engineering, education, science, literature, management and economics. Mechanical manufacturing and automation, vocational and technical education and vehicle application engineering are three key disciplines in Tianjin. The school has two key laboratories in Tianjin, namely the high-speed cutting and precision machining laboratory and the key laboratory of information sensing and intelligent control. Since the 1990s, the school has initiated a new talent training mode, and implemented a "double certificate" system to train "integrated" vocational education teachers ("double certificate" means that students not only obtain graduation certificates, but also obtain national vocational qualification certificates; "Integration" means that graduates can not only teach professional theoretical courses, but also guide professional skills training.
