In the list of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage recommended by the Ministry of Culture not long ago, there are 3 1 national folk arts in Guizhou, among which carved roads are among them.
Carving Road is the oldest, largest and most popular wine song among Miao ancient songs, with more than 10,000 lines of lyrics. It was created, accumulated and evolved by Miao ancestors in their long-term production and life practice. In the process, it absorbed excellent folk songs of other nationalities and formed the unique characteristics and styles of Miao poetry. Ancient songs vividly describe the environment, characters' language, movements, psychology and personality.
Carving the Road is a long narrative poem of Miao marriage with strong national flavor, and it is also a large-scale and long-standing Miao ancient book. It has not only made great achievements in literature and art, but also has great value in the study of Miao origin and migration, totem worship, mathematical knowledge, linguistics and so on.
The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage. On May 20th, 2006, the carved road was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
