Does the aerospace major require high mathematics?
Aerospace majors have high requirements for mathematics.

The training goal of aerospace specialty is to cultivate the ability to have good basic knowledge of mathematics and mechanics, basic theory of aircraft engineering, overall structural design and strength analysis and test of aircraft, be able to engage in overall design, structural design and research, structural strength analysis and test of aircraft (including spacecraft and launch vehicles), and have senior engineers and researchers engaged in general mechanical design and manufacturing. Training requirements are the basic theory and knowledge of aircraft design for students of this major. They have been trained in aerospace aircraft engineering and have the basic ability to participate in aircraft overall and component design.

Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:

1. Master the basic theory and knowledge of aircraft design;

2. Master the analysis method of aircraft structural design;

3. Have the basic ability of aircraft design;

4. Be familiar with the principles, policies and regulations of spacecraft design;

5. Understand the theoretical frontier, application prospect and development trend of aerospace vehicle design;

6. Master the basic methods of literature retrieval and information query, and have certain scientific research and practical work ability.

Main courses: mechanics of materials, mechanical design, elasticity, structural mechanics, fundamentals of fluid mechanics and aerodynamics, aircraft dynamics, flight mechanics, mechanical properties and structural strength, testing technology, automatic control theory, etc.
