Guizhou Normal University, located in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, is a provincial-level key university with a comprehensive discipline layout featuring teacher education, which is jointly established by the people of China, the Ministry of Education and Guizhou Province. It was selected into the discipline innovation and intelligence introduction plan of colleges and universities, the basic ability construction project of colleges and universities in the central and western regions and the excellent teacher training plan.

The school was founded in 194 1, formerly known as National Guiyang Teachers College; 1950 changed its name to Guiyang Normal University; 1956 was officially handed over to the people's government of Guizhou province by the Ministry of Education of China. 1958, Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish a new Guizhou University in the form of a joint school in Guiyang Normal University.

1959, Guizhou University left our school; 1985 was renamed as Guizhou Normal University; 1996 was identified as a provincial key university by Guizhou provincial people's government; In 2004, the former Guizhou Vocational and Technical College merged.

As of June, 2022, the school has three campuses, Huaxi, Baoshan and Baiyun, covering an area of 2,800 mu, with a collection of more than 2.875 million paper documents, including about 654.38+million ancient books and 0/.925 million electronic books.
