How to display Roman numerals in previous pages and Arabic numerals in later documents in word?
Set directory page number

View-Header Footer Switch to Footer, Insert-Page Number, open the dialog box, select the format, select Roman numerals, and click OK.

Set the page number of the text.

1. Place the cursor at the top of the page where you want to start numbering (that is, text).

2. Select Insert-Delimiter to open the Delimiter dialog box. Under Delimiter Type, click the Select Next radio button.

3. Select the view-header and footer, and place the cursor at the footer.

4. In the header and footer toolbars, do the following in turn:

① Click the "Link to the previous section" button to disconnect the link with the previous section.

② Click the Insert Page Number button, and then click the Page Number Format button to open the Page Number Format dialog box.

③ Type the corresponding starting number (such as 1) in the box after "Starting Page Number".

④ Click the "Close" button.
