More than twenty years ago, when I was just teaching, I taught a child, and his math performance was very poor. He can only get about 20 points in each exam, and everyone thinks he is mentally ill. During that time, the school almost rated him as a special child.
His father sells meat in the street, and he sometimes gives it to his father. When he was in the fifth grade, his father once called others good meat and said, "Look at this, 421 Jin." While the guest and his father were still calculating how much money they should have, he had worked out the money. For the first time, his father thought he happened to get it right and didn't care.
Later, another guest came. Similarly, his father weighed the guests, and he suddenly said how much to give. His father was shocked. Because the child's grades are getting worse, he also thinks that his son has a problem with IQ and is desperate for his son.
Now he knows that there is nothing wrong with my son's brain, but he has a learning disability. The child has now developed his father's meat stall and once turned it into a meat processing factory, and the business is booming.
Can we say that the child is stupid? If you are stupid, can you work out how much you should pay for this piece of meat at once? Can meat processing plants be so prosperous? Therefore, cleverness should not look at the test scores, but should look at them in all directions.
I have also encountered this situation mentioned by the subject. This is the case with a boy in my last graduating class. After six years of primary school, my math scores have been super good, basically one or two years higher. China's achievements can't be described in beautiful words. The average score in the class is 94,95, and sometimes he may only get 74 points. Because of his poor memory, he can't write some new words and recite texts.
Son, can you say he is clever? Definitely not. But you can't call him stupid. Because stupid children can't get 98, 99 or even 100 every time in math. I think he is somewhere between cleverness and stupidity.
Children entered junior high school with the first place in mathematics, and were assigned to classes with particularly good conditions and good treatment. Maybe the junior high school teacher thinks that the Chinese performance in junior high school should be better. In fact, he is not only poor in Chinese, but also poor in English. Even his most proud math has fallen behind, which can only be regarded as the average score in the class.
The reason why he became like this is related to his poor study habits, but it is also related to his low IQ. A few days ago, I just heard a colleague say that parents should take their children to the hospital for examination if they only get good grades in math and poor grades in Chinese.
Really smart children do well in math and Chinese. If the children are only good at math, then the subjects should pay attention to see why the children's Chinese is poor. I don't like teachers, or I can't remember new words and recite texts.
Then according to the child's situation, try to make up for it. Don't think that children are smart and sensible, and their Chinese grades will naturally get better. Beware that poor Chinese performance leads to poor comprehension and summary ability, which affects other subjects.
