Participants are high school students and adhere to the principle of voluntary participation.
3. Proposition requirements
According to the requirements of the current High School Mathematics Competition Outline, the scope of knowledge involved in the National Mathematical Olympiad for Middle School Students (Preliminary Competition) (Trial) does not exceed the teaching requirements and contents stipulated in the Mathematics Curriculum Standard for Ordinary High Schools promulgated by the Ministry of Education 2017 (revised in 2020), but the requirements for methods have been improved. It mainly examines students' mastery of basic knowledge and skills, as well as their ability to use knowledge comprehensively and flexibly. The test paper includes 8 fill-in-the-blank questions (8 points for each question) and 3 solution questions (respectively 16 points, 20 points and 20 points), and the full score is 120 points. The national middle school students' mathematics Olympics (preliminaries) and the national middle school students' mathematics Olympics (finals) (winter camp) are in line with the international mathematics Olympics, which expands the knowledge; Appropriately add some contents beyond the standard of mathematics curriculum. The examination paper includes four solutions, involving plane geometry, algebra, number theory and combination. 40 points for the first two questions, 50 points for the last two questions, out of 180.
