In 2002, with the approval of Jinan Education Bureau, Yanshan Middle School and Yanshan Primary School in Jinan City, Shandong Province merged into a nine-year compulsory education school, which was named Yanshan School in Jinan City, Shandong Province. In 2005, Yanshan School successfully passed the inspection of provincial standardized schools. The school is located in Yanshan Community, Lixia District, Jinan City, covering an area of 25 mu. There are 60 classes with more than 3000 students. In 2009, Jinan Yanshan Middle School merged with Jinan Kaiyuan Middle School, and a new campus was opened on Wenhua East Road, where all junior one students attended classes.
