School of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University originated from the Biology Department of Zhejiang University and was established in 1929. It is one of the earliest biology departments established in Chinese universities. A number of outstanding biologists, represented by 14 academicians, have emerged.
The college has three undergraduate majors: biological science, biotechnology and bioinformatics. The major of biological science has been selected into the national first-class professional construction and the national "Top-notch Talents Training Plan for Basic Discipline", and the national basic scientific research and teaching training base of biological science and the national life science and technology personnel training base have been established. Biology and ecology are two first-class disciplines, doctoral programs and postdoctoral mobile stations, covering two disciplines 12 doctoral programs and marine biology 13 master programs, including plant science, animal science, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, biophysics, physiology, aquatic biology, developmental biology, neurobiology and bioinformatics.
Postgraduate entrance examination is to test mathematics. If you choose liberal arts, you don't have to take math exams, such as law, literature, journalism, communication and so on.
