The Dragon Boat Festival is here, and every household is making zongzi with dogwood on the door. Of course, my family is no exception.
Making zongzi is not as simple as saying. It takes a long time to prepare the materials. My mother soaked rice in a big pot one day in advance to prepare cotton thread and zongzi leaves.
I started making zongzi. My mother washed the dates, then folded the washed zongzi leaves into a funnel shape, first put some rice and a jujube, then put some peanuts, and finally filled the rice. Then my mother skillfully folded the leaves of zongzi into a shape with a corner in the middle, wrapped the wrapped zongzi with cotton thread, tied it and put it in the pot. I stood there helpless, not knowing what I could do. An hour later, there was a fragrant smell of rice in the pot, and my mouth watered.
Because of different customs, the packaged jiaozi tastes different. I prefer to eat jiaozi wrapped by my mother, because it has the flavor of my hometown!
Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival in China, and there is a legend named after it. Once upon a time, there was a great patriotic poet named Qu Yuan. Because he opposed compromise and advocated fighting Qin with Qi, he was attacked and framed by the powerful ministers of Chu, and was successively relegated to exile with King Xiang of Qin. After Qu Yuan left Du Ying, he walked alone along the Yangtze River, looking haggard. I have long hair and live a wandering life. When Chu was destroyed, he threw himself into the river. In order to prevent him from being eaten by fish in the river, people throw zongzi into the river on this day. This is how the Dragon Boat Festival got its name.
Dragon Boat Festival is a very lively festival. It is a custom of every family to make dumplings and eat them. There are many kinds and shapes of zongzi. In rural areas, some people will wrap a schoolbag-shaped zongzi for their children to wear around their waist and eat while going to school. There are many flavors, sweet, salty, fragrant, spicy and even bitter. But it seems that because of different places, the packaged jiaozi tastes different. People in every place are basically used to homemade jiaozi, but some people are not used to the taste of packaging in other places. Because the stuffing is different, I still like to eat homemade jiaozi.
Another indispensable activity of the Dragon Boat Festival is boating. On the wide river, three or four dragon boats were put down, and a dozen people paddled. One sits on the tap and beats gongs, and the other sits on the boat and plays drums. Everyone shouted "one, two" and "one, two" in unison, which was comparable to the stormy waves. The onlookers on the shore braved the scorching sun and still did not forget to cheer for their favorite dragon boat. Looking at the middle of the river, several dragon boats crossing the river like tigers have long been a life-and-death race. Peripheral friends have picked up cameras and quickly photographed these spectacular scenes. Afraid I'll never see you again.

Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival in China to commemorate Qu Yuan, a poet of Chu State. People have the custom of eating zongzi, racing dragon boats, wearing sachets and hanging mugwort leaves. On the morning of Dragon Boat Festival, my parents and I went to the supermarket to buy zongzi. There are many varieties there, including red bean paste, candied dates and meat. It looks attractive and makes my mouth water!
On my way home after buying zongzi, my mother bought me a beautiful sachet. The sachet looks like a jumping carp, covered with glittering scales and hung around my neck with colorful silk thread. It smells good. It is said that children wear sachets on the Dragon Boat Festival to ward off evil spirits and repel mosquitoes. People also hang mugwort leaves on doors, which can produce peculiar fragrance, repel mosquitoes and purify the air.
