Xu Youyu published The Philosopher and His Mask. Selected Works of Wittgenstein Volume 6: On the Basis of Mathematics. 1995, his research changed obviously. He began to talk about the spread and noisy role of postmodern thoughts in China, wrote a series of academic works about the Cultural Revolution in China, and published a monograph, Various Rebellions 1999. He is one of the earliest and most powerful critics of the negative influence of China's modern ideological trend in China academic circles. From 65438 to 0997, he began to sort out various social thoughts in China in 1990s, and advocated to strengthen the study of liberalism. When China intellectuals were divided and opposed, and there were differences and arguments about China's current social nature, major issues, market economy, social justice and other issues, he actively participated in the debate. When enlightenment and reason were questioned, he unequivocally expressed his defense position.
