AMC8 is an American junior high school math competition, which is a math test for students of grade eight and below. The content of AMC8 competition corresponds to the American junior high school mathematics syllabus, including but not limited to number theory, probability, estimation, percentage, elementary geometry, spatial imagination, daily application problems, statistical charts and so on. The purpose of AMC8 competition organized by the American Mathematical Association (MAA) is to increase students' interest and enthusiasm in mathematics, to promote students to learn mathematics content beyond the compulsory courses of middle school mathematics, and to enhance students' ability to solve problems through such an attractive examination. AMC8 allows participants to gain problem-solving experience that they can't get in junior high school math class. Winners will be invited to participate in the AMC 10 and AMC 12 competitions, which will have great advantages in applying for American universities and scholarships.
