After finishing the first grade of junior high school, Hua dropped out of school because of his poor family, so he had to stand in front of the counter for his parents, but he still insisted on teaching himself mathematics. After his unremitting efforts, his paper "Why Su Jiaju's fifth algebraic equation can't be solved" was discovered by Professor Xiong Qinglai, head of the Department of Mathematics of Tsinghua University, and invited him to Tsinghua University.
