How to divide the teaching materials of new curriculum reform in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province
Since the autumn of 2004, all the junior grades of compulsory education in our province have started the new curriculum and implemented the basic education curriculum reform experiment. With the implementation of curriculum reform in our province, junior high school Chinese textbooks have also changed. Before the curriculum reform, junior high school Chinese textbooks were mainly People's Education Edition (published by People's Education Publishing House); After the curriculum reform, in addition to the People's Education Edition, students can also choose textbooks published by Hebei University Press, Chinese Press and Jiangsu Education Press.

According to Mr. Zhang from Hebei Institute of Educational Sciences, great changes have taken place in junior high school Chinese textbooks during this curriculum reform. Taking the textbook of People's Education Edition as an example, a large number of titles have been added, while some well-known famous articles, such as Little Orange Lantern, Who is the cutest person, Cat and Litchi Honey, have been deleted, which gives people a refreshing feeling. Newly selected articles account for almost 60% of the total number of articles. The newly selected text highlights the following features:

(1) is more contemporary. The choice of teaching materials highlights the characteristics of the times and reflects the life of the times. At this point, the selection of new textbooks is obvious. For example, the appellations of Ideal (Liushahe) and Face/Guan (Wei Minglun) all have strong characteristics of the times, reflecting the lifestyle and characteristics of the times in today's society.

② Close to students' life. Textbooks are the basis of students' learning. Only by being close to students' life can they be better loved and accepted by students. The new textbook attaches great importance to this point in the selection of articles, so some such articles have been selected and compiled. For example, Beyond the Mountain (Wang Jiaxin), Ugly Duckling (Andersen), Messenger (Yu), My Mother (Hu Shi), Talking about Life (Bing Xin) and so on.

③ Reflect multiculturalism and values. The newly selected articles show respect for multiculturalism and values, which is also the requirement of Chinese curriculum standards for textbook compilation. For example, Beethoven (what), Leo Tolstoy (Zweig) and so on all reflect this point.

④ It highlights the patriotism and noble moral education for students. The newly selected article highlights the theme of patriotism and noble moral education for students. For example, Ode to the Yellow River (before the light comes), Luhuadang (Sun Li), Motherland, My Dear Motherland (Shu Ting) and so on.

As for whether this textbook change has any influence on the senior high school entrance examination, Sun Ling, a 42-year-old Chinese teacher in Shijiazhuang, said that this textbook change in the People's Education Edition was carried out under the background of major curriculum reform, which not only involved the addition and deletion of articles, but also involved the change of teaching methods. The new textbook not only focuses on imparting knowledge to students, but also on cultivating students' abilities, processes and methods. After-class exercises also pay attention to students' emotional experience. These changes are directly reflected in the senior high school entrance examination. For example, in recent years, there are many open questions in the senior high school entrance examination, focusing on examining students' ability. In the senior high school entrance examination in 2006, let students talk about their understanding of historical monuments. In the 2007 senior high school entrance examination, let students write their feelings in combination with "washing their mother's feet". These questions comprehensively examine students' ability of examining questions, understanding and language expression.

The parties discussed the changes in teaching materials.

Regarding the changes in junior high school Chinese textbooks published by People's Education Press, the reporter interviewed some middle school teachers and readers in the provincial capital, and some of their views were quite representative.

Supporters: The article has a stronger sense of the times.

Sun Hongli (Shijiazhuang 42 Chinese teacher): In the past, the articles selected in textbooks were more political, but now the texts pay more attention to humanity and emotion, and advocate the love for life and nature. In the past, people may have overemphasized that human beings can conquer nature, but the new article chooses articles such as "awe of nature" to emphasize the harmonious coexistence between man and nature. I feel sorry for the deletion of some classic articles, but they were deleted for a reason. For example, Bing Xin's Little Orange Lantern has a specific background. With the development of the times, it is more difficult for students to understand now. However, some deleted classic articles also appear in students' self-reading textbooks, which is also a kind of compensation.

Wang Chunling (Director of Academic Affairs Office of Shijiazhuang 17 Middle School, who has been engaged in Chinese teaching for many years): With the development of the times and the progress of society, Chinese textbooks will naturally develop. It is necessary to add some articles with a strong sense of the times, so that students can feel the pulse of the times from textbooks and life, thus prompting students to learn. Under the background of curriculum reform, teaching is student-oriented, and the selection of texts should be based on the principle that students can easily understand, appreciate and imitate, which is beneficial to students' learning. However, some traditional texts are a little far away from today's society, so it is definitely a little difficult for students to understand them. It is necessary to correct them appropriately.

Neutral cube: the articles close to students are not classic enough.

Gu Zhijian (teacher of Shijiazhuang No.40 Middle School): Generally speaking, this change is closer to students' lives. Some old articles were deleted and some articles involving high technology, cloning and gene technology were added. The selected text is more contemporary. However, compared with the past, I feel that some selected articles are not classic enough, and they are a little poor in theme, ideology and artistry.

Objection: Good works are never out of date.

Li Lei (student of Hebei Normal University): The classic works such as Little Orange Lantern and Who is the cutest person are deeply rooted in people's hearts. I feel very sorry that these classic things have been removed from the new textbook. Although with the development of the times, the background of these articles has become farther and farther away from this era, classics are classics, and their literariness and artistry are enough to be the reasons for junior high school students to continue their studies. If the textbook continues to change like this, I really can't imagine what the junior middle school Chinese textbook will look like in the future. At present, classic things are ignored too much, and a large number of timely works occupy people's vision, but can these new articles stand the test of time?

Zhang Meixia (educator, 1996 graduated from high school) literature is different from science-good literary works will never go out of date. Therefore, when compiling Chinese textbooks, the quality of articles should be regarded as the first criterion for selecting textbooks. On the basis of satisfying the quality of the article, we should consider whether it has the flavor of the times or whether it is suitable for students of this age to read. One of the great shortcomings of Chinese textbooks after the curriculum reform is that they overemphasize the so-called sub-standards, such as innovation and the flavor of the times, while ignoring the most important quality of the article. Taking students' preferences or the preferences of the public as the criteria for selecting articles for teaching materials reflects the author's poor literary appreciation ability, lack of preconceived ideas and serious utilitarian psychology.
