How should I help the first-year students with their homework? Is it accompanied all the way?
I don't think so!

I am a primary school math teacher and my teacher's mother. Let me give you my opinion.

When children are in the first grade, I suggest that parents accompany them first.

First of all, children are not used to grade one, so there will be several problems:

First, I don't know what homework to write, and I don't know what it is after I finish it. This parent may feel a little surprised. When I was teaching grade one, I just started taking math classes. Some children don't know what a math textbook is. Although the preschool class studied calculation, the children didn't know it was math. Some children don't know the word "math", and their math homework is not fixed every day. Today they may write a workbook, and tomorrow they may write a sketch. All these require parents to help their children to ensure that they remember their homework correctly.

Second: when our teacher assigns homework, he will tell the children to write carefully and check after writing. Children know what kind of writing meets the requirements, but children don't. At this time, parents can watch and find that the child's writing is not good or scribbled, telling the child that this is wrong and how we should write. Teachers will also teach children how to check in class, but few children can really do it, because the homework is finished and they can finally play, even if the check is only a glimpse. Have I finished it? The real check is to do the homework in your head carefully, which needs parents to teach you.

Third: if the child makes a mistake in his homework, parents should analyze it with the child, shouldn't they? Still didn't do it seriously. If not, children may not be effective in class. Parents can ask the teacher and correct it slowly. Because when the teacher lectures in class, all the children are listening, but whether they can understand or listen can not be completely seen, but they should communicate with the teacher and let the teacher pay attention to the children. If it is caused by carelessness, it can be corrected slowly.

Of course, I don't advise parents to accompany their children to do their homework all the time, so that children are prone to dependence.

When parents find that their children's habit of doing homework has been fully developed, they can let go. In my experience, faster children almost finished the first grade last semester, and most children have fixed study habits after finishing the first grade. Of course, parents should let go bit by bit, and don't completely ignore it. At first, they can accompany the guidance. Later, they just helped to see if the homework was finished. After the child is examined, parents can watch it again, and then they can almost put it down.

Continue to pay attention to children's learning situation after not accompanying them. Some children's parents cut corners or don't write at all when they don't care about their homework. Parents should communicate with teachers more, correct such signs in time, and let children know that although my mother doesn't accompany me to do my homework, she has been paying attention to my study, so that children will naturally pay attention to their studies and dare not discount their studies.
