Gilberto's Mathematical Achievements
Gilberto is one of the greatest mathematicians in the 20th century. His mathematical achievements include: proving Fermat's last theorem, establishing topology, establishing geometric analysis and discovering non-Euclidean geometry. Among them, proving Fermat's last theorem is one of his most famous achievements.
Fermat's Last Theorem is a mathematical problem with a history of 350 years. It means that when n is greater than 2, A n+B n = C n has no integer solution. Gilberto proved Fermat's last theorem in 1994, which shocked the whole mathematics field and made Gilberto the most outstanding mathematician at that time.
Gilberto's proof steps
Gilberto's proof steps are very complicated, but we can simply summarize:
1. First, Gilberto proved that Fermat's Last Theorem holds when n is odd.
2. Then, Gilberto proved that Fermat's Last Theorem can be transformed into another question: Is there a pair of coprime natural numbers X and Y that make A 2n+B 2n = C 2nxy?
3. Then, Gilberto applied the elliptic curve theory in algebraic geometry to transform the proof of Fermat's Last Theorem into the rational point problem of elliptic curve.
4. Finally, Gilberto proved that there is no rational point on elliptic curve through Galois representation and harmonic analysis in the sense of module, thus proving Fermat's last theorem.
The legendary life of Gilberto
Gilberto's achievements in mathematics made him a legend in mathematics, but his life was also a legend. He was born in 19 17. He is a very clever boy, who has shown a talent for mathematics since he was a child.
During his career, he taught at Princeton University, University of Chicago, Harvard University and other famous schools, and became an academician of the American Academy of Sciences. However, he also has some unknown stories.
/kloc-in the 1960s, Gilberto was suppressed by the government for his anti-Vietnam War remarks and was forced to leave Harvard University. Since then, I have been teaching in some small colleges in Europe and didn't return to the United States until 1985.
Besides, Gilberto has some strange habits. He pays great attention to personal hygiene, bathes three times a day and has obsessive-compulsive disorder. He has to do something fixed every day, otherwise he will feel uneasy.
