Deduction is the process of drawing specific statements or individual conclusions from general premises through deduction, that is, "deduction". The logical form of deductive reasoning is of great significance to rationality because it plays an irreplaceable role in correcting the rigor and consistency of human thinking. The most typical and important application of deductive reasoning usually exists in logic and mathematical proof.

Induction is based on the fact that some objects of a kind of things have certain properties, and all objects of this kind of things have this property, which is called inductive reasoning (induction for short). Induction is a process from special to general, which belongs to reasonable reasoning.

Induction and deduction are not contradictory in application. Some problems can be solved by the former and some problems can be solved by the latter. More often, the combination of the two can achieve better results.
