Median is the middle value of a set of data arranged in sequence, which represents a value in a sample, population or probability distribution, and can divide the value set into equal upper and lower parts.
For a finite set of numbers, we can sort all the observed values and find the middle one as the median. If there are even numbers of observations, the average of the middle two values is usually taken as the median.
Extended data:
For a limited number of data, their median is such a number: half of this set of data is larger than it, and the other half is smaller than it.
The median is obtained by sorting and is not affected by the maximum and minimum extreme values. Some data changes have no effect on the median. When the individual data in a group of data changes greatly, it is often used to describe the centralized trend of the group of data.
