Scrambling code is a chaotic character that cannot be read normally because the system or software lacks the support for a certain character coding. Common internal code errors include the conflict between GB code and BIG5 code, and the display problems of Japanese and Korean. The concept of garbled code

Garbled code means that the computer system cannot display correct characters, but displays other meaningless characters or blanks, such as a bunch of ASC codes. The text displayed in this way is collectively called garbled.

The garbled characters are because "the source code of the used characters uses the wrong display font on the local computer", or the characters corresponding to the source code cannot be found in the font of the local computer. Different countries and regions use the same source code in fonts, or the source file is damaged, which leads to the error of the source code extracted by the computer by default, or the computer does not install the corresponding font, which may cause garbled codes.

Type of garbled code

There are four types of garbled Chinese characters:

1. Text garbled: it is displayed garbled by Windows system, such as menu, desktop, prompt box, etc. This is caused by incorrect font settings in the registry;

2. Document garbled: various applications and games are garbled where Chinese was originally displayed. The reasons for this kind of garbled code are complicated, such as 1 garbled code, or the Chinese dynamic link library used by the software is covered by the English dynamic link library.

3. File garbled: mainly refers to mail garbled;

4. The webpage is garbled: It is caused by the incompatibility between the traditional Chinese BIG5 of Hong Kong and Taiwan and the simplified Chinese of Chinese mainland (GB23 12).
