School of Energy and Power Engineering of Xi Jiaotong University is one of the earliest secondary colleges established by Xi Jiaotong University. The first boiler specialty, the first automobile manufacturing specialty, the first refrigeration and low temperature specialty and the first compressor specialty were set up in China, and the first thermal and internal combustion engine discipline was established in China.

The college was formerly the department of mechanical engineering Power Group founded by Jiaotong University 192 1, and 1956 moved to Xi 'an with the main body of the school, which was one of the departments of Jiaotong University that moved westward at that time. 1In April, 1994, the departments of Xi Jiaotong University were adjusted, and the Department of Energy and Power Engineering merged with the Department of Mechanical Engineering Power to form the School of Energy and Power Engineering.
