Chen Guoqing's scientific research direction
Scientific research, mainly engaged in optimization theory, algorithm and application. Including linear and nonlinear optimization, non-differentiable optimization, global optimization, variational and complementary problems, nonsmooth equations and so on. As well as the modeling, model properties and optimization methods of some practical problems such as geometric layout, friction contact, SAR image simulation and underwater terrain inversion. The research results were published in the International Journal of Numerical Methods in Engineering and the China Journal of Numerical Mathematics and Application. Academic journals such as Journal of Machinery, Frontier of Mathematics in China, China Science (A), Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Research and Review, Journal of Applied Mathematics in Colleges and Universities, Journal of Computational Mathematics in Colleges and Universities, Journal of Solid Mechanics, Journal of Computational Mechanics and Progress of Marine Science were cited.

In teaching, he presided over and participated in the national higher education reform projects in the new century, such as "theoretical and practical exploration of strengthening the cultural quality education of college students in frontier ethnic areas" and "research and practice of diversified talent training mode for science and engineering undergraduates in local universities". Guided by the concepts of differentiability and derivative (gradient) of multivariate function and by means of directional derivative, a new teaching content system of multivariate differential calculus is established, which is similar to univariate differential calculus. He has taught undergraduate courses such as advanced mathematics, linear algebra, calculation methods, spatial analytic geometry, mathematical analysis, ordinary differential equations, and postgraduate courses such as optimization theory and method, non-smooth analysis, variational and complementary problems. Cooperated to complete the national planning textbook "Concise Course of Calculus" (Higher Education Press, 2005) for general higher education during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period. The completed teaching achievement "Research and Construction of Quality-oriented Talents Training Mode" won the first prize of outstanding teaching achievement in 2000 in the autonomous region, and the second prize of national teaching achievement "Research and Practice of Calculus Teaching Content System and Teaching Method" in 2005.
