College of Mathematics and Computer Science, Guangxi University for Nationalities, formerly majoring in mathematics, was established in 1960. 1972, the department of mathematical physics was established; 1978 was assigned to the Department of Mathematics; 1998 was renamed the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. In July 2003, the School of Computer and Information Science was established after the adjustment of school disciplines, and it was renamed the School of Mathematics and Computer Science in May 2006.

After 50 years of construction, the College of Mathematics and Computer Science has developed from a single science mathematics major to five undergraduate majors with science and engineering and management, namely, mathematics and applied mathematics, information and computing science, computer science and technology, software engineering, information management and information system. Authorized as a master's degree in 2003, there are four master's degree disciplines: basic mathematics, computational mathematics, applied mathematics and computer application technology.
