In 2002, Yantai Huaqiao Middle School was restored to Yantai No.5 Middle School by Zhifu District Government. At the same time, Yantai Overseas Chinese School was established on the basis of the original Yantai Overseas Chinese Children's Primary School, which is a nine-year ordinary school.
