The Mathematics Department of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was established in 199 1. It is the youngest mathematics department in Hong Kong, but it attracts talented mathematics experts from all over the world, and its research covers various fields. Now it has developed into a small position where many mathematical cultures gather. There are six majors in undergraduate course: pure mathematics, physical mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematical science, statistics and general mathematics.
