The College of Mathematics and Computer Science attaches great importance to subject competitions, establishes a team of competition instructors, actively organizes contestants to register, and provides guidance and training in all aspects, aiming at stimulating college students' interest in learning mathematics, cultivating students' ability to analyze and solve problems by using mathematics, further promoting the reform and construction of mathematics courses in colleges and universities, strengthening the promotion of practical ability, promoting teaching by competition, promoting learning by competition and promoting reform by competition.
Brief introduction of mathematical modeling competition;
The competition was founded in 1992 and held once a year. It is one of the first 19 competitions listed in the "Academic Competition Rankings of Colleges and Universities". In 2022, 1606 colleges and campuses and 54,257 teams (49,424 undergraduate teams and 4,833 specialist teams) from all over the country, Britain, Malaysia and other countries signed up for the competition.
The title of the 2022 competition was announced at the beginning of the competition (6: 00 pm on September 15, 2022) on this website, China HowNet, China University Online, Higher Education Press, China University Mathematical Modeling course center, China Mathematical Modeling and other websites. Please register for the competition through China HowNet and submit your paper.
Mathematical modeling is to establish a mathematical model according to actual problems, solve the mathematical model, and then solve the actual problems according to the results.
When it is necessary to analyze and study a practical problem from a quantitative point of view, people should use mathematical symbols and language to establish a mathematical model on the basis of in-depth investigation, understanding of object information, making simplified assumptions and analyzing internal laws.
