This unit is mainly to let students try to find the optimal solution from the perspective of optimization through some simple examples in daily life, and initially experience the application of operational research ideas in real life and the application of game theory in solving problems.

Example 1 discuss how to arrange homework reasonably to save time and let students experience the application of optimization thought in solving problems.

Example 2: According to the actual materials that guests at home want to make tea, how to arrange for guests to have tea as soon as possible is put forward.

Example 3 is about queuing theory, and it is about the theory of random service system. One of the studies is how to minimize the waiting time of customers.

Example 4 introduces the application of game theory from the story of "Tian Ji Horse Racing". Game theory studies what countermeasures competitors can take to defeat their opponents.
