When did steam education begin?
The original form of STEAM is SME. 1986, in the late Cold War, the National Science Foundation (NSF) published a report entitled "Undergraduate Science, Mathematics and Engineering Education", suggesting that the state should mobilize various resources to invest in education in the fields of science, mathematics and engineering (SME) and guide more outstanding students to enter the SME field.

In the early 1990s, technology was included, and SMEs became SMEs.
