The School of Science was formerly the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Physics of Huzhou Normal University. In 2002, it merged to form the School of Science, which is the largest and highest-level school in Huzhou Normal University.
The college has three departments of mathematics, physics and information, and a provincial physical experiment teaching demonstration center. Undergraduate enrollment begins 1994. At present, there are four undergraduate majors: mathematics and applied mathematics, physics, information and computing science and science education, with nearly a thousand full-time undergraduates.
