Analysis:
After nearly two years' research and demonstration, the Reform Scheme of the New Curriculum Experimental College Entrance Examination for Senior High Schools in Guangdong Province has finally condensed a mature scheme from several alternative schemes-3+Liberal Arts Foundation/Science Foundation+X. Recently, the Reform Scheme of Implementing the New Curriculum Experimental College Entrance Examination for Senior High Schools in Guangdong Province (Draft 2 for Comment) (hereinafter referred to as the "Scheme") has been issued to all educational units in various cities. After soliciting opinions again and sorting out, it will be finalized and submitted to the provincial government and the Ministry of Education for approval and implementation. This scheme follows the requirements of the new curriculum standard of senior high school, implements quality education and guides students to "basic knowledge+professional development", which is the general direction of reform.
According to the latest revised college entrance examination plan, from 2007, the general college entrance examination will be changed from the current "3+ comprehensive +X" mode to "3+ liberal arts foundation/science foundation +X", and the specific subject setting will be different from that of liberal arts, and the admission will be divided into two different grades. Among the elective subjects of "X", English (II) is cancelled, and only six general subjects, namely physics, chemistry, biology, ideology and politics, history and geography, are reserved. The college entrance examination time is still three days on June 7, 8 and 9. Except for the Chinese exam, the time is 150 minutes, all other subjects are 120 minutes, and all subjects are 150 minutes. The total score is still displayed in the standard form.
Although there are differences between liberal arts foundation and science foundation, they are not pure liberal arts subjects, because the liberal arts foundation exam contains 30% of biology, chemistry and physics, and the science foundation contains 30% of history, geography and politics. Mathematics is also divided into liberal arts mathematics and science mathematics. Generally speaking, the difficulty is reduced, which reduces the negative for candidates.
What is particularly striking is that, in order to embody the spirit of quality education, a "comprehensive quality evaluation" is added to the college entrance examination, which is truthfully recorded in students' electronic files as a reference for college admission and as one of the admission basis.
It is understood that the implementation of the new college entrance examination scheme is mainly due to the requirements of the new curriculum standards for senior high schools since 2004 and the need to adjust the current college entrance examination scheme. Guangdong Province began to implement the reform plan of "3+X" college entrance examination subject group from 1999. The scheme has been implemented for 6 years, and the overall situation is good, but it needs to be adjusted and improved. Although this scheme solves the problem of separating arts and sciences and provides greater selectivity, because the comprehensive ability test involves six subjects, every candidate's examination subjects are actually nine subjects except art candidates. The questionnaire survey of big data confirms that the problem of heavy burden on students has not been solved, but it also shows a trend of increasing burden on middle school students and difficult teaching arrangements. However, the total score method does not score according to the conversion standard of different examinee groups in different elective subjects, and does not draw admission scores according to different professional enrollment plans and corresponding elective subjects, which leads middle school students to take some humanities and social sciences subjects too intensively in order to get a higher total score, and the unbalanced development of different elective subjects is becoming more and more serious, which will have a negative impact on the development of middle school teaching and higher education. In addition, too many elective subjects lead to too long test days, too many candidates' total scores and too many elective subjects, which leads to complicated admission operation and great resistance in colleges and universities. Therefore, reform is imperative.
It is understood that the study of the plan began in August 2003 and lasted for two years. During the research period, the education department held more than ten seminars.
