Mathematical culture is a course to educate students on mathematical concepts, knowledge, skills, abilities, thinking, methods, attitudes, spirits and values, so as to improve their mathematical literacy and even their cultural literacy.

Mathematical culture:

(1) Thoughts, spirits and methods about mathematics, so as to improve young students' mathematical literacy and even their cultural literacy, views and language, and their formation and development. (narrow sense)

Humanistic elements in the development of mathematics, the relationship between mathematics and society, the relationship between mathematics and various cultures, and so on. (in a broad sense)

M Klein, a famous American historian of mathematics, made a systematic and profound exposition in his works.

Since then, there have been many views on people's understanding of mathematical culture:

① Mathematical culture is a high generalization of mathematical knowledge, skills, concepts and values.

② Mathematical culture has a profound influence on people's behavior, concept, attitude and spirit, but this influence is subtle.

③ Mathematical culture embodies more humanistic spirit and plays an important role in improving people's cultural literacy and personality quality.
