The joint recruitment area takes the examination of Volume A, and the non-joint recruitment area takes the examination of Volume B. The joint recruitment area is the designated enrollment area, and the students in this area are uniformly graded, underlined and admitted. Non-joint recruitment areas shall be organized by all districts and counties themselves. The total score of the senior high school entrance examination in the joint recruitment area is 750, while that in the non-joint recruitment area is 750 and 850.

Morality and Rule of Law is an open-book exam, and other subjects are closed-book exams.

In the open-book exam of Morality and Rule of Law, only candidates are allowed to bring the textbook of Morality and Rule of Law in ordinary junior middle schools, and other books and reference materials are not allowed.
