Henry was born into a poor worker's family in Albany, new york. /kloc-dropped out of school at the age of 0/3 and later became an apprentice in a watch shop.
He studied hard, was admitted to Albany College, studied chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and prepared to be a doctor. However, after graduation, he became a lecturer in natural science and mathematics at Albany College.
