This subject was founded by the mathematicians of the older generation, Hua Guan and Wu Wenjun, on 1958, and has been an important effective force in the field of mathematics in China since its establishment. This discipline is the first batch of doctoral programs and postdoctoral mobile stations in China. 1987 was approved by the state education commission as the first batch of national key disciplines, and was approved by the state education commission again in 200 1 year. 2. Computational mathematics
Computational Mathematics was founded in 1958 by Mr. Feng Kang, the founder of computational mathematics in China. It is the first batch of master's programs, doctoral programs and postdoctoral mobile stations in China, the first batch of national key construction disciplines and "2 1 1" key construction disciplines. 1999 was approved as the post setting major of Changjiang Scholar distinguished professor.

Applied Mathematics was founded in 1958 by the late mathematicians Professor Hua, Professor Guan and the famous mathematician Professor Wu Wenjun. Under the leadership of Professor Hua, the first president, this major has made important contributions to the country in personnel training and mathematics application. The State Education Commission approved the establishment of doctoral programs and postdoctoral mobile stations in May, 1986. 65438-0996, the doctoral program of this subject passed the national evaluation and ranked third among universities in China. This major has research directions such as graph theory and combinatorial networks, integrable systems and applied functionals.

At present, there are mainly Professor Jiang, Associate Professor Wang Yi and Associate Professor Liang Xing in biological mathematics. Its current research topics include biological nonlinear analysis and wave theory, model theory, evolutionary game theory, spatial population dynamics, infectious disease model, neural network and biological structure model theory. 6. Mathematical physics
At present, there are two main research directions in mathematical physics: string theory and integrable system.
String theory mainly includes Professor Hu Sen and Professor Andrew. At present, the main research topics are: vacuum state and generalized complex geometry of strings under NS flux and RR flux, more extensive D film and its boundary * * * shape field theory, less supersymmetry string theory and duality of field theory.
Integrable systems mainly include Professor Franz Chen, Professor Shen, Professor Ji Xiaoda and Associate Professor He Jinsong.
