How long is the playground?
Teaching objectives:

1. Feel and experience the length of 1 km, and further develop students' spatial concept and hands-on operation ability.

2. Through activities such as pulling, walking, speaking, thinking and measuring, let students experience the process of knowing how long 1 km is and feel the practicality of the length unit.

3. Experience the connection between length unit and real life.

Teaching focus:

Perceive the length of 1 km in the activity.

Teaching difficulties:

Choosing the right length unit accurately can estimate and measure the length of an object.

Teaching process:

First, create situations and introduce new lessons.

The teacher asked the students: What length units are known and what letters are used to express them? Use gestures to show how long they are, in meters, decimeters, centimeters and millimeters, and talk about the progress between them. (Display media 1)

When measuring or describing relatively short lengths, we usually use meters, decimeters, centimeters and millimeters. What units do we usually use when measuring relatively long lengths? In this lesson, we will learn how long 1 km is (blackboard writing).

Second, study independently and explore new knowledge.

Take students to the playground to teach;

The length of 1. Experience 1 km.

Student activities:

(1) Perceive the length of10m and100m by step measurement.

Organize students to stand hand in hand in a row and observe how many people are needed for the stationmaster about 10 meter. Count how many people are needed and record them.

Let the students walk on the playground, count how many steps it takes to walk 10 meter, and make records. (about 16 steps)

Please stand in a row hand in hand. (Think about it) Is it 100 meter? How many people does it take to reach 100 meter? Count the number of people and record it.

Let the students walk on the runway of 100 meters, count how many steps they take and how long it will take, and make records. (about 160 steps)

(2) How many steps are there to estimate 1000m?

Estimate how many steps there are in 1000 meters. Students should estimate how long it takes and how many steps it takes according to their own personal experience (1000 meters). (about 1600 steps)

(3) How long is the experience perception of1km?

Make students think. How long is 1000m? Ask students to think in combination with real life. It is difficult for students to experience the length of 1000 meters. Students can think independently first, then discuss in groups, and then organize students to report.
