The School of Science of Jimei University has five undergraduate majors, including mathematics and applied mathematics, information and computing science, applied physics, optical information science and technology, and geographic information system, and 1 master's degree in applied mathematics with 1385 undergraduates. Its school-running history can be traced back to Jimei Normal School founded by patriotic overseas Chinese Chen Jiageng in 19 18. So far, it has trained nearly 10 thousand senior professionals in mathematics, physics and geography for the country.
