It is a way to classify people according to two different indicators: will and skill, with the aim of making our communication with colleagues or subordinates more effective.
The total multiplication of two indicators can be divided into four types. After the classification is completed, we can know what attitude we should take to face our colleagues or subordinates.

Note: the abscissa represents skill, from low to high, and the ordinate represents will, from low to high.
This leads to the formula:
(high capacity) x (high willingness) = entrustment.
(high ability) x (low willingness) = excite.
(low ability) x (high willingness) = guidance
(low ability) x (low will) = direct.
So:
A person with high ability and high ability will have no problem even if the work is completely given to him. Let him do it by delegating power, because the way we can take is "appointment";
For people with high ability but low will, in order to improve their work efficiency and motivation, we can "stimulate" them by praising and reprimanding them;
People with low but high ability have high development potential in the future, and we can cultivate them through "guidance";
I am afraid that people with low ability and low will can only be treated by "ordering food". To put it bluntly, it's time to fire them.
Therefore, considering the two different indicators of willingness and ability, according to the degree of indicators, we can clearly draw the corresponding strategies.
