Geometric meaning
By transforming the function as shown in figure 1, we can see that the geometric meaning of this function is the sum of the distances from a point (x, 0) on the X axis to two points A and B. It is easy to know that when point (x, 0) and points A and B' are * * * lines (B' is the symmetrical point of point B about the X axis), the sum of the distances is the smallest. Easy to find: AB'=2. So the minimum value of the function is 2, and the range of the function is [2,+infinity].
