Introduction to kangaroo mathematics competition
The Kangaroo Mathematics Competition was initiated by the famous Australian mathematician Peter O'Halloran in 1980. 199 1 year, two famous French mathematics educators set up a formal competition organizing committee and promoted the competition in Europe. In honor of Peter O'Halloran, the contest was officially named "kangaroo math contest". Different from the difficulty and challenge emphasized by the traditional Mathematical Olympiad, the purpose of Kangaroo Mathematical Contest is to stimulate children's interest and self-confidence in mathematics learning, cultivate students' mathematical thinking, and train students' ability to read, understand, analyze and solve problems with interesting and vivid topics close to life. Because it is moderately difficult, lively and interesting, it can stimulate students' interest in learning mathematics and promote classroom teaching, and this activity has gradually become popular all over the world.
