What is the Gauss Mathematics Competition in Waterloo, Canada?
Gauss Mathematical Contest The Gauss Mathematical Contest was named after Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss, a famous German mathematician, physicist and astronomer (1April 30th, 777-1February 23rd, 855). Organized by China for Mathematics and Computing Education (CEMC) of the University of Waterloo.

Gauss competition rule

Competition type: 25 multiple-choice questions

Competition duration: 60 minutes

Competition score: total score 150.

Competition requirements: Students can use calculators to calculate their scores during the competition, but they are not allowed to use calculators with the following functions.

With internet access function

The function of communicating with other devices

Calculator with memory storage function, such as storing formulas, programs, notes, etc.

There is a computer algebra system.

There is dynamic geometry software

Casio 300 series, HP Prime, TI-Nspire CAS and other incompetent calculators.

Gauss competition award

Gauss-Gauss Math Competition only offers a single prize:

Participation certificate: every participating student has it.

Certificate of Excellence: among the global contestants, the top 25% students of their respective reference schools can get certificates.

The winner with the highest score in each school will have a separate award.

The names of students with high scores will be displayed in the competition, official website.

Project requirements

For students in grades 7-8, they must be registered by the school.

The registration fee is 4 Canadian dollars per person before tax. If the number of participants in the organization school exceeds 500, the registration fee will be reduced to 3.5 per person before tax.
