Three times to teach in Xinjiang

Gu Yanqin, a teacher of Beijing Kangleli Primary School, responded to the call and went to Xinjiang to teach for three times. She overcame the discomfort caused by the bad weather, entered the Uighur students, talked about Scientific Outlook on Development, talked about the development of the mainland, and publicized the strategic decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to develop the western region. She also took advantage of her work break to learn about the teaching reform in primary and secondary schools and gave them a demonstration class, which was well received by local teachers and students.

During her stay in Xinjiang, she was successively rated as an outstanding teacher in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and an outstanding teacher in Hotan City, Xinjiang, and won the only special prize of "Xinjiang Teachers' Classroom Teaching Adjustment Competition in Beijing, Zhejiang, Shandong and Urumqi" with her solid teaching basic skills.

Gu Yanqin (teacher of Beijing Kangleli Primary School):

The socialist concept of "Eight Honors and Eight Disgraces" put forward by General Secretary Hu Jintao has aroused strong repercussions among our teachers. People's teachers have the responsibility to help young people establish a socialist concept of honor and disgrace in practice, so that the socialist concept of honor and disgrace can become a vivid moral practice for the majority of young people and become their lifestyle. Therefore, teachers should strengthen their professional ethics and practice "eight honors and eight disgraces".

In 2003, when I heard the call of the CPC Central Committee to send a group of excellent teachers to support frontier education in order to strengthen national unity and develop frontier economic, cultural and educational undertakings, I didn't take into account that I was nearly 50 years old at that time, overcoming the difficulties of my mother's infirmity and my in-laws' advanced age, and I was the first to sign up to help Xinjiang. After completing the arduous task of aiding Xinjiang for one and a half years, when I was invited by Hotan Education Bureau and Education College again, I readily agreed to come to Hotan, Xinjiang where I worked for one and a half years for the second time. This year, it is my third time to come to Xinjiang Hotan Institute of Education to teach.

The fierce desert wind in Taklimakan Desert, like a wandering Jiang Yang thief, constantly plunders Hotan land. It's yellow, and the wind blows tiny grains of sand into your face. I asked myself to adapt to the severe drought and dusty weather as soon as possible. There is no canteen in the school, we cook by ourselves, there is no washing machine, heavy jeans and quilt cover, and we rub them by hand. No matter how tired I am at work every day, I will walk into Uighur students, chat with them in Chinese, tell them about the outside world, and tell them about science, civilization, hygiene and reducing diseases. My companions and I used the holiday to go to the source of the "West-to-East Gas Transmission" in the hinterland of Taklimakan Desert, the fast-growing shelter belt, the spectacular drip irrigation project in the desert and other places for on-the-spot investigation and shooting, and then came back for students to watch on the computer. Living facts make Uighur students love China's * * * production party more, love the motherland, and establish confidence in changing the face of their hometown, thus enhancing the cohesion of national unity.

Seeing that many Uighur teachers in Hotan area can't speak fluent Chinese with their mouths open, I have encountered many difficulties in classroom teaching, and I am worried. On weekends, I will teach the teacher "Introduction to China Culture" and Chinese training. I often have classes for four or five hours in a row. The dry climate makes my voice hoarse, my mouth sore and it is difficult to open my mouth.

Respect every experimental data.

Li Siran, a junior 3 student in Wen Hui Middle School, began to take part in botanical research in 2003, and studied the alien invasive plant ragweed through comprehensive scientific investigation and experimental methods. Related papers will soon participate in the Beijing Youth Innovation Competition. He actively participated in various scientific and technological activities, and won the first prize of the National Middle School Students' English Competence Competition, the third prize of the National Hope Cup Mathematics Competition, the first prize of the Beijing Science and Technology English Competition, the first prize of the Chongwen District Environmental Science Forum, and the title of "Three Good Students" in Beijing.

Li Siran (a junior high school student in Wen Hui):

General Secretary Hu Jintao recently stressed that it is necessary to guide the broad masses of cadres and people, especially teenagers, to establish a socialist concept of honor and disgrace. Among them, "I am proud of advocating science and ashamed of ignorance" has aroused my deep thought. In today's society, "science and technology are the primary productive forces". It is our teenagers' arduous responsibility to master rich scientific and technological knowledge and contribute their greatest value to the country and society.

Scientific practice has given me a deep understanding of scientific spirit. It is necessary to improve scientific literacy, enhance scientific ability, understand scientific spirit, and concretely implement the idea of "being proud of advocating science". Scientific work is a pure and noble undertaking. We must adopt a scientific attitude of seeking truth from facts, respect experiments and respect every data and conclusion. Although it seems hard and boring, as long as you are brave in innovation, dare to put forward novel and unique opinions, and are willing to make a lot of efforts to this end, persevere and always maintain a high degree of enthusiasm, you will certainly appreciate the significance and fun.

Use love to add luster to the red scarf

Li Nanjin is a fifth-grade student in Qingdao Experimental Primary School, Shandong Province. She collects commercial publicity materials at home and when shopping, and regularly gives scratch-resistant hard paper that meets the requirements to blind school students. Xiao Nanjin is also a "caring volunteer" in Qingdao Children's Hospital and Qingdao Children's Heart Center where his mother works. Every year, Qingdao Children's Heart Center subsidizes some children with congenital heart disease from poor families for surgery. Li Nanjin actively provided his clothes, books and toys, went to his mother's department on Saturday afternoon to draw pictures and tell stories to sick children, and also established long-term friends with some young patients.

Li Nanjin (Grade 5 student of Qingdao Experimental Primary School, Shandong Province):

Dad watches news and crawls every day these days. I know that the "two sessions" are national events, and I have heard the expression "eight honors and eight disgraces" many times. I thought it was an idiom I hadn't learned. When Grandpa Hu Jintao visited NPC and CPPCC representatives, I quickly asked this question, and then realized that this was a new requirement for socialist citizens. Dad told me that there are still many vague understandings about the boundaries between right and wrong, good and evil, beauty and ugliness. For example, some students compare the prices and brands of school tools, supplies, food and clothing with each other, and compare their parents, parents, money and cars. Some students are obsessed with bad online games and blindly worship stars.

The "Eight Honors and Eight Disgraces" put forward by Grandpa Hu Jintao pointed out very concretely the basic principles for every socialist citizen to behave and do things. We primary school students are the future of the nation, so we should establish the concepts of patriotism and collectivism and lofty ideals. In the future, I will use the standard of "Eight Honors and Eight Disgraces" to strictly demand myself, love the motherland, science, collectivity, public property, family, classmates, nature, labor and exercise. I will start from myself and the little things around me, add luster to the red scarf, and make up my mind to be a qualified citizen! (Reporter Liang Jie Su Ting interviewed)
