What does the average mean in mathematics?
Average is a term that is often used, misused and overused. Usually, when many people really mean the arithmetic average, they mean the average. The average can be mean, median, mode, geometric average and weighted average.

Although most people use the word average to do this calculation:

Four test results: 15, 18, 22, 20.

The total is: 75 will be 75.

Divided by 4: 18.75

The average value (average value) is 18.75.

(usually rounded to 19)
