It is reported that the National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students was founded in 1992 and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Chinese Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics. It is one of the first 19 competitions listed in the Academic Competition Rankings of Colleges and Universities, and has become the largest and most influential basic academic competition in colleges and universities in China.
In 2022, the National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students attracted 1606 colleges/campuses and 54,257 teams (49,424 undergraduate teams and 4,833 specialist teams) from China, Britain, Malaysia and other countries, and more than 654.38 million people signed up for the competition.
Two higher vocational colleges won the highest prize.
In addition to the first prize and the second prize, the Higher Education Club Cup National College Students' Mathematical Modeling Competition also set up three top prizes (one for each): Higher Education Club Cup Award, Knowledge Network Research Award and North Pacific Tianyuan Mathematical Model Star Award. In the expert group, the team composed of shaanxi university of technology Yan Chenxi, Li Peng and Tang Shiwei won the highest prize in the National Higher Education Club Cup. The team composed of Jiangxi Vocational College of Applied Technology, Lian and Yang Jingyun won the highest prize in China-Beitai Tianyuan Digital Star.
