1997 college entrance examination is a three plus two model, with original and standard scores, Chinese, mathematics and English 150, history and politics 100. This is the original score, which needs to be converted into the provincial standard score, with a full score of 900.

The national unified entrance examination for colleges and universities, referred to as "College Entrance Examination" for short, is a selective examination for qualified high school graduates from China and Chinese mainland (excluding Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province Province) or candidates with equivalent academic qualifications.
