Chinese, mathematics, foreign languages, physics and history are included in the total cultural score of the college entrance examination according to the examinee's examination papers, while ideology, politics, geography, chemistry and biology are included in the total cultural score of the college entrance examination according to the examinee's scores.

Subject arrangement of Guangdong college entrance examination in 2023:

In 2023, the entrance examination for colleges and universities in Guangdong includes the unified college entrance examination and the selective examination for the academic level of ordinary high schools.

Unified college entrance examination subjects are Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages. Foreign language subjects are divided into six languages: English, Russian, Japanese, German, French and Spanish. Candidates can choose 1 language to take the exam. Unified college entrance examination questions are formulated by the Ministry of Education.

The selected subjects are six subjects: politics, history, geography, physics, chemistry and biology. Candidates must choose 1 from the two preferred subjects of history and physics, and then choose two of the four re-examination subjects of ideology and politics, geography, chemistry and biology to take the exam. The examination questions of the selected subjects are independently produced by our province.
